L.C. To use prefixes to understand meaning.
Let's look at the following root words and the words with the prefixed added.
Can you decipher the meaning of the added prefix.

Sub- at a lower position
Super- above, more than normal, or excessive.
Inter- between, among
Anti- opposing, against, the opposite
