LC: To write a 'for' argument to a discussion text that includes quantifiers, language of argument, adverbials, points with evidence and conjunctions.

Let's orally rehearse the 'for' argument of the discussion text 'Do humans really care about the environment?'

We can use this to support our 'for' argument writing today.

Your teacher will be writing their 'for' argument on 'Are humans really dealing with global warming?'

You will be writing your 'for' argument on 'Are humans really dealing with the plastic pollution problem?'

You will need to refer to your discussion text plan. Read through the 'for' argument part of the plan before you begin to write it.

Here is your teacher's plan.

Your teacher will now model writing their 'for' argument. As they write each part of their 'for' argument, they will stop to allow you to write your part too before moving on.

You can use the scaffold below to help you write your 'for' argument. It has been taken from the discussion text: 'Do humans really care about the environment?'

An argument for humans _______________________ is that many __________________________________. In fact, _______

__________________________________. Furthermore, _______
