English 

In English, we are going to be developing our recount (retelling of events) writing skills. We will be reading a story called The Night Gardener and using it to write a recount letter.

To help us know what features we need to include, we will be exploring lots of different books that include letters, such as The Jolly Postman, Dear Greenpeace, Paddington's Post and Meerkat Mail. We will learn how to sequence a recount using adverbs for time such as first of all, then, next, one day, after that, meanwhile, it wasn’t long before, during the night, over the next few days, in the end.

Following this, we will then focus on developing our story writing skills. We will be writing a story linked to our history topic, using what we have learned about life in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age to develop the setting, characters and plot.

 P.E   Striking and Fielding: Cricket 

We will demonstrate bowling underarm with accuracy and consistency. We will also learn how to strike a Cricket ball off a tee or drop feed using a Cricket bat. We will demonstrate how to catch and throw a Cricket ball when fielding. We will aim to use all the skills and tactics demonstrated and apply them into a modified Cricket game.
