LC: To understand how light travels

If you are learning from home, please complete the following activities in your Blended Learning book. You will need to bring this to school when you return to show your teacher.

Copy the diagram above into your book. In a couple of sentences, explain how light travels.

LC: To understand how we see things

Draw the following diagram in your book and add two arrows. Write a short paragraph that explains how we see things.

LC: To explain why shadows have the same shape as the object that casts them

Shadows are formed because light travels in straight lines. Shadows are formed when an opaque object or material is placed in the path of rays of light. The opaque material does not let the light pass through it. The light rays that go past the edges of the material make an outline for the shadow.

In your book, write an explanation that explains how shadows are formed and what determines the shape of a shadow. You can draw a diagram to help you.
