L.C. To draw inferences round characters’ actions and motives.

Actions and motives are very closely linked.

Usually questions about motive will ask you:

Why did 'Character' do 'Action'?

As we read, we need to look carefully at the text clues. These clues inform us about how each character feels and why they act like they do.

When we put both our background knowledge and text clues together, we can make an inference.

The 3 main characters are the biggest brother, the middle brother and the smallest brother.

We will be inferring why they said and did the things they did.

Why did the youngest brother take the money and run off?
