L.C. To know when to use a dictionary to check for meaning.

When should we use a dictionary?

Before looking in a dictionary, what else can we do?

What can we use a dictionary for?

How would using a dictionary help us?

Let's look at the following sentence.

Wardens barked orders and pointed instructions at the hordes, but few people paid any attention.

I seem to have a reading breakdown. What could I do to fix it?

What does the word hordes mean?

Before looking in a dictionary, what could I do to work it out?

Now I have an idea of the meaning, I can use the dictionary to see if I was correct.

What is the dictionary definition for hordes?
