LC: To explain how paragraphs are used to order, build up ideas, and how they are linked.
We have already looked at adverbials within paragraphs and how they are used to order events and link ideas (think back to the newspaper recount work we did last term).
Today, we are going to be looking at how paragraphs are used in order to build ideas within 'The Snargets' text.

Your teacher will now model the cohesive words or phrases which join ideas and paragraphs together for the first three paragraphs of 'The Snarget' text. Remember, these are the 'glue words' as they join all ideas together.
Use the model to highlight the words or phrases used to build up ideas and link them in paragraphs. You will look at the next three paragraphs of the story.
