LC: To demonstrate active reading strategies: constructing images.
Today, we will begin reading pages 1 to 8 of our new text called 'Stig of the Dump' and we will construct images as we read.
Let's read pages 1 - 3 first and get an image in our heads of what the chalk pit/dump looks like.
Now, let's read pages 3 - 6.
YOUR TASK
Read the rest of page 6 and to the end of page 8 before constructing an image of Stig.
Select key words and phrases that show what Stig looks like and then use these to draw an image of Stig.
This can be recorded in your book.
