You are going to read a short part of a play which is based on a familiar story. Read it as a class first and then answer the questions below.

 

Little Red Riding Hood

Scene 1

In the kitchen of the cottage, Mother is packing a basket on the table. Little Red Riding Hood is putting on her cape.

 

Mother : (firmly) Please be sure to carry the basket carefully so you don't damage the cakes.

 

Little Red Riding Hood: (gently) Of course Mother, they are so nicely decorated. I wouldn't want to spoil them as Grandmother would be upset.

 

Mother: (in a questioning voice) Do you remember the way dear? We've been so many times before. Make sure you do not stop along the way. 

 

Little Red Riding Hood: (confidently) Yes Mother, I remember the way. 

 

Mother : Just remember not to talk to strangers!
