Your teacher is going to read the first part of Alice Dent and the Incredible Germs.
They will model to you how they construct images in their head as they read.
They will be constructing images on what Mrs Dent is doing.
First Task
Click on the picture below to access an audio book.
Listen to the first two minutes of the audio book ‘The Secret Explorers and the Lost Whales’ Chapter 1: Pond Dipping.
(You will need to click on Chapter 2 to listen to Chapter 1.)
Listen to it several times.
Can you construct images on what Connor was doing and his surroundings?
Second Task
Now you have listened a few times, draw what you can see in your mind.
Images to draw:
1. What Connor was doing at the start of the chapter and what the
algae looked like in the net
2. The setting of Connor’s house/garden
