LC: To identify the kind of job that you might like to do when you are older.

What job would you like to do when you are older and why?

Miss Hall's journey to her career in Education.

When Miss Hall was seven years old, she wanted to be a teacher as she loved school, learning and enjoyed sharing what she had learned with her teachers and class.

When Miss Hall was nine years old, she wanted to be an archaeologist as she was interested in history, looking at artefacts and watching a show called Time Team

When Miss Hall was 16, she wanted to be an actress as she loved acting and performing and felt she was really good at speaking loudly in front of an audience and remembering lines. She had also been elected as Deputy Head Girl too which had also given her this confidence.

When Miss Hall was 18, she worked as an educational support assistant with young adults who had special needs. She found this very rewarding as she loved teaching new skills and supporting young adults to learn and get enjoyment out of learning.  It made her realise that being a teacher was her number one career choice and that it would make her happy. During this time, she was offered a place on a four year teacher training course after a successful application and interview.

Have you noticed that the jobs Miss Hall wanted to do as she got older were linked to her interests, skills and achievements?

Why do you think choosing a career that matches your interests, skills and achievements is important?

Your Challenge

Look back at your interests, skills and achievements and identify the kind of jobs you might like to do when you are older.

Explain why you would like to do these.

This can be done on Seesaw.
