Today we are going to be thinking about story characters - which ones are our favourite and why.

A character is a person, animal, being, creature, or thing in a story. Characters perform the actions and speak dialogue, moving the story along.

First, let's make a list of the books we enjoy reading.

Think about your favourite book character. Can you describe them? What do they look like? What do they enjoy doing? How do they behave? Why do you like them?

Rhys likes Billy because he is also scared of the dark.

We all like different book characters for many different reasons. It might be because they are like us or it might be because we admire them or because we find them funny.

It is good to be different.
