Peace Garden

Having listened to the voices of the Right Holders at our school, we are excited about the construction of our new Peace Garden.

Under Construction

Children felt it was important to have a space where they could connect with nature and each other. This is a multi-sensory space for reflection, calmness, contemplation and connectivity, with themselves, each other and the world around them.

At the heart is an English Oak, planted to remember those fallen in the Great War and consequent wars. There are also benches commemorating past friends that have been integral to the school and community.

Surrounding the Peace Garden are some of the 120 trees planted by children in Year 4 together with the Ribble Rivers Trust as part of the late Queen Elizabeth’s ‘The Queen’s Canopy’ to mark the extraordinary event of her Platinum Jubilee.

Within the Peace Garden itself is a herb garden funded by The Ernest Cook Trust, a large educational charity, who work closely with our school and are passionate about supporting our vision of Nature and Nurture.
