Whitney Houston - The Powerful Pop Star 🎶

 

Whitney Houston was an amazing singer and actress who was born in New Jersey, USA in 1963. She grew up singing in her church choir and was inspired by her mother, who was also a singer.

Whitney's amazing voice was soon discovered, and she became a famous singer in the 1980s and 1990s.

 


 

Whitney Houston released her first album in 1985, which included hit songs like "Greatest Love Of All" and "How Will I Know." She won her first Grammy Award in 1986 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Whitney has won a total of six Grammy Awards and sold over 200 million records worldwide.

The song has a positive message about self-love and self-belief. The lyrics encourage listeners to believe in themselves and to never give up on their dreams. It’s one of those songs that has an empowering message, capable of inspiring individuals to reach higher and to always strive for greatness.

Week 2 - I Wanna Dance (with somebody)

I Wanna Dance With Somebody" was released as the lead single from her second album, Whitney, in 1987. The upbeat pop-dance track features a synthesizer (electronic) riff and horn section, with lyrics about the wish to find a fun dance partner.
 

The song is still a popular dance and karaoke hit today and has been covered by lots of other singers. It is considered one of Houston's most famous songs and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1988.
