LC: To identify horizontal and vertical lines.
How would you describe the sides of the rectangles?
Can you use your knowledge of special lines to help you?
There are other ways to describe lines.
We can use the term 'vertical' to describe the lines. Vertical lines are perpendicular to the floor.
Can you identify the lines in the picture that are perpendicular to the floor?
How many of these lines are there?
Lines AB and DC are parallel to each other.
They are also parallel to the floor.
These lines are called 'horizontal' lines.
