What do you already know about fractions?

What does the denominator mean?

What does the numerator mean?

What fractions do you know?

 

In the last lesson, when we counted in hundredths, how did it sound? 


 

 


How many sixths are equivalent to a whole or one?

So, how many sixths would there be in 2 wholes?

So, how many sixths would there be in 3 wholes?

 

 

 

This as an improper fraction would be 17/6.
 

 


When we are counting in mixed numbers, why do we never say '1 and 6/6' or '2 and 6/6'?

 

 

The last jug in question 1 has 2/3 of a cup.
