Today we are going to go trough the answers for the maths we did yesterday. First I will tell you the answer and we will see who got it correct and who didn't we will then look at a method of how to get the write answer.

So lets start

1. 120

Method : Work from left to right.

Step 1 - 4 x 3 = 12

Step 2 - 12 x 10 = 120

2. 339

Method : Use the column method

 2 7 6 + 1 6 3 3 3 9

3. 8/7 or 1 and 1/7

Method : Add the numerators (number on top), keep the denominator (number at the bottom) the same.

6 + 2 = 8

Method : Any number when divided by 1 equals the original number

Method : Use the column method

Step 1 - 8 - 5 = 3

Step 2 - 4 (40) - 2 (20) = 2 (20)

Method : Use the column method

Method : Partition the number

Method :

Step 1 - 6 x 2 = 12

Step 2 - 6 x 60 = 360

Step 3 - 360 + 12 = 372

Method : Split 63 equally into 9 groups

Method : Use the column method

Method : Use the column method. Remember to exchange correctly.

Step 1 - 6 - 8 = Can't do. So exchange from the Tens (3 - this would then become 2). So now 16 - 8 = 9

Step 2 - 2 - 5 = Can't do. Se exchange from the Hundreds (5 - This would then become 4). So now 12 - 5 = 7

Step 3 - 4 - 4 = 0

Step 4 - 2 - 0 = 2

Method : Convert the mixed number into an improper fraction then subtract.

Step 1 - Convert the mixed number into an improper fraction.

1 and 2/5 as a improper fraction would be 7/5

Step 2 - 7/5 - 4/5 = 3/5  (Remember to keep the denominator the same and just subtract the numerator).

Method : Complete the inverse (switch it around).

Step 1 - Flip the question around so the box is at the end.

1635 + 100 =

Step 2 - Solve 1635 + 100 = 1735

Method : Use BIDMAS

Step 1 - Brackets - (32 divided by 8) How many 8 in 32 = 4

Step 2 - Only operation left is Addition so 40 + 4 = 44

Method : Multiply the numerator by the numerator then multiply the denominator by the denominator.

Step 1 - 2 x 3 = 6

Step 2 - 5 x 7 = 35

Method : Write down times table at the side

Step 1 -  Work out 16 times table.

1 x 16 = 16

2 x 16 = 32

3 x 16 = 48

4 x 16 = 64

5 x 16 = 80

6 x 16 = 96

7 x 16 = 112

8 x 16 = 128

9 x 16 = 144

10 x 16 = 160

Step 2 - How many 16's in 4? 0 (carry the 4 over)

Step 3 - How many 16's in 49? 3 r1 (carry the 1 over)

Step 4 - How many 16's in 16? 1
