19.11.20

Well done yesterday. Most of us were successful.

Lets Recap

If we have a right angle and we know part of the angle it will always be 90º subtract the º of the angle we know.

e.g.

This is a right angle so it will be 90º and the angle we know is 62º. Therefore, to work out the missing angle we will subtract 62º from 90º

90º - 62º = 28º

Next

If we have a straight angle and we know part of the angle then it will be 180º subtract the º of the angle we know.

e.g.

This is a straight angle so it will be 180º and the angle we know is 77º. Therefore, to work out the missing angle we will subtract 77º from 180º

180º - 77º = 103º

Starter

Work out the following:

Main

Today we are going to look at missing angles within a full angle.

How many º are there in a full angle?

To work or a missing angle we will need to subtract the angle we know from 360º

Lets looks at an example:

This is a full angle so it will be 360º and the angle we know is 225º. Therefore, to work out the missing angle we will subtract 225º from 360º

360º - 225º = 145º

Task

Challenge

What is the value of angle x?

Home learners please could you take a photo of your answered questions and email it to Mr Hindman on Purple Mash.
