Today we are going to be looking at multiplication. We are going to be looking at using the column method to help us answer questions where you are required to multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number.

What is the question asking you to do?
The in focus is asking us to times 23 by 2.
As a number sentence this would look like this:
23 x 2 =
Lets now look at the Let's Learn to see how they have worked it out.
To summarise there are 3 steps in order to solve the problem
Step 1 - Multiply the ones by the number
Step 2 - Multiply the tens by the number
Step 3 - Add the answers of step 1 and 2 together
