Look carefully at these cupcakes.
Do you see any patterns, similarities or differences in the picture of cupcakes?
Do you notice anything about these odd and even numbers?
That's right all the even numbers can be divided into groups of 2 but odd numbers can't. Odd numbers cannot be divided into groups of 2, like the strawberry cupcakes.
All numbers ending in 2, 4, 6, 8 or 0 are even numbers.
What do you notice?
How can we find out if 12 is an even number or an odd number?
That's right think about when we count in 2's or the 2 times table.
I want you to use this chart to help you work out if the numbers are odd or even.
Remember to look carefully at the ones digit in these 2 digit numbers
If you are at school turn to page 139, 140 and 141.
