Maths

 Let's carry on with factors!

Remember a factor is a number that fits into another number without remainders.

 The factors of 24 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24.

If we list them like this, we can easily see which is the lowest factor and which is the highest.

To check we have found them all, we can pair them up, for example

  1 and 24 because 1 x 24 = 24

  2 and 12 because 2 x 12 = 24

  3 and 8 because 3 x 8 = 24

  4 and 6 because 4 x 6 = 24

We have paired them all up, so we have found all the factors.

Let's have a go at the next problem.

Can the children make full rectangles with their tiles without any left over?

Is there more than 1 way ?

To help you, they have 12, 18 and 24 tiles.

Have you found all the possibilities?

 Let's learn.

Next have a go at the guided practice.

When the teacher has checked (or if you are at home you are happy) then move onto the Maths No problem questions.
