LC: To write the eyewitness accounts and the final part of the newspaper report.

Let's orally rehearse the next two parts of the the newspaper recount 'Flying Toads Toured the Town!'

We can use it to support our writing today.

Today, we will be writing the next two parts of our newspaper recounts on the discovery of a hybrid animal.

We will focus on the following skills:

Eyewitness accounts that include direct speech and reported speech.

The recount is written in past tense.

Direct speech is written in first person.

Reported speech is written in third person.

The additional information is in time order using language of sequencing and fronted adverbials.

You will need to use the next two sections of your recount planner to help.

This is the recount planner for Flying Toads Toured the Town!

You and your teacher will need to refer back to your recount planners in order to write your newspaper recount on the discovery of a hybrid animal.

Your teacher will now model writing the next two parts to their newspaper recount using the Flying Toads Toured the Town! text as a model. As they write each part, they will stop to allow you to write your part too before moving on.

Scaffold to support your writing.

It has been taken from Flying Toads Toured the Town!
