Happy Shoesday

Walk to school week 2023

To celebrate your achievement at getting our school to the top of both leaderboards again last week and as part of Walk to school and Mental Health Awareness week, tomorrow will be

smiley  Happy Shoesday! smiley

You can walk to school in shoes that make you feel the happiest! Will it be your slippers, a favourite pair of shoes or trainers, your boots or wellies?

To keep you safe in school and at playtimes please wear sensible footwear, no heels or shoes with wheels!

For PE, the daily mile and after school club activities, you can bring your school trainers in a bag if you are not wearing trainers.

You still need to wear your PE kit or school uniform.

Please do not ask your parents to buy you new shoes!

You could change an old or plain pair of shoes into new happy shoes. Please ask your parents for permission before you start to decorate them.

   You could:

~ use wool or ribbon for coloured laces or bows

~ cover them with stickers, jewels, pompoms etc.

~ draw patterns or your favourite things with felt tips        (superhero, rainbows, spots, smiley faces etc.)

As the theme for walk to school week is 'Walk with wildlife', we will be collecting 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p or £1 coins to give a donation to a local animal charity chosen by the Department for the Environment.

Here are some photos the Department for the Environment took of their classes wearing their happy shoes

Thank you for all the donations, we raise £127.01
