L.C. To investigate ways in which nouns and adjectives can be made into verbs by the use of suffixes.
In English, we can convert an adjective or noun into a verb by adding suffixes. For example, 'terror' is a noun (or naming word), but by adding the suffix -ify it turns into 'terrify'. This is a verb because it describes a state or action.
-tion -ation -en -ing -ify -ise -ate -ed
Hope would become hoping.
Bottle would become bottled or bottling
Look at the following words. Add a suffix to the word to change it from a noun to a verb.
hike
shop
stain
medic
capital
root
digital
familiar
apology
Now, put the verb into a sentence.
