Apostrophe for Possession (Plural)

What do we mean by the word plural?

Plural means more than one. So, this would mean more than one person owning something.

If there are two or more people owning something, an apostrophe is needed to show plural possession.

In this case, the apostrophe goes after the plural owners.

So, if a group of girls own a shop and you want to talk about the shop, you would say ‘the girls’ shop’.

Notice how the apostrophe comes after the ‘s’.

Let’s have look at another example.

The book belonging to the boys.

We would say:

The boys’ book.

Using the rules above, write out the shortened form of the following sentences.
