Early Morning/ Afternoon Work

Have and has are different forms of the verb to have. Even though they come from the same word, there are slight differences in the way they’re used.

Have and has show possession in the present tense (describing events that are currently happening).

Have is used when speaking in the

-first person (Iwe)

- second person (you)

- third person plural (they)

Examples:

They have two dogs.

You have three kittens.

I have a gerbil that lives in a cage.

Has is used when speaking in the

- third person singular (heshe, and it).

Examples:

He has a large garden with a swing.

She has gone out in the pouring rain.

It has been lovely weather all week.

Your Task

1. Read the sentences.

2. Decide whether each sentence needs 'have' or 'has' to complete it.

3. Write out the sentence with the correct verb.
