Our Rights Respecting class charter
In class, we are learning about our children’s rights. We are looking at some of the articles from the UNCRC.
We will be using these pictures to help us to remember them.
We are the Right Holders and the adults that support us are called Duty Bearers.
As part of our class charter, we have been looking at the right to choose your own friend and the right to an education. Each child cut out and decorated a different shape leaf to go on our ‘promise’ tree. This shows that we all agree to respect everyone’s right to choose their own friends and we will take responsibility for our actions.
We have also been exploring our emotions and used
The Colour Monster story to talk about the different ways we might feel. We talked about what certain emotions may look like and how we might react to certain situations. We tried different strategies to manage our emotions to find out which one works for us.
Article 13:
Every child must be free to express their thoughts and opinions. We have been learning that it is important to talk about how we are feeling with a friend or a duty bearer.
We have been researching why our teeth are so important and the best way to clean our teeth.
Article 24: Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care and education on health and well being so that children can stay healthy.
