English
In English, we will be reading and analysing the novel 'The Enormous Crocodile' by Roald Dahl. We will be drawing inferences around characters' thoughts and feelings. We will be using this novel to write our own short stories, using skills that we have been taught.
Maths
Science
This term in science we will be learning about Forces and Magnets. We will explore and describe how objects move on different surfaces.
Also, we plan to explore and explain how objects attract and repel, in relation to objects and other magnets.
We will compare and group together a variety of everyday materials based on whether they are attracted to a magnet and identify some magnetic materials.
Key concept question: Is power always a positive thing?
RRS: Article 24 – Right to health, clean water and a clean environment.
Geography
We will be using the school grounds to undertake fieldwork to observe, record and present human and physical features of Lancashire using a range of methods. We will be naming and locating the counties and cities of the UK through the use of atlases and maps, including digital maps.
ART
RE
In RE, we will be learning about Hinduism. Our focus question is: why is family an important part of Hindu life?
We will also be discussing some of the similarities and differences between Hinduism and other religions.
PSHCE
In PSHCE, we will be focusing on family and friendships.
We will be learning about different types of families, who to tell if something is worrying us about our families, how to ask for help with our friendships and how to resolve arguments.
Music
We will follow charanga scheme. Our unit for this term will be musical styles. We will discuss the following question; How does music bring us closer together?
RRS: Article 31- Right to leisure, play and culture.
We will send and receive a rugby ball and move into spaces to receive passes. We will use simple tactics in a game and revise them in an Invasion Game.

To understand the need to keep personal information and passwords private.
To understand that if I make personal information available online it may be seen by others.
To understand the need for caution when using an Internet search for images and what to do if I find an unsuitable image.
