L.C. To begin to show an awareness of objects having a third dimension.

L.C. To apply tone in a simple way.

L.C. To create texture with a wide range of drawing tools.

This morning in literacy, you came up with at least 3 new hybrid animals.

In today’s lesson, you will be sketching your own hybrid animal.

To do this, we need to remember the work we did on tone and shading.

By using these techniques, we will make our hybrid animals look 3 dimensional.
This will make them look realistic.

Our example this morning was a rhinophant.

Here is an example of what a rhinophant would look like.

Now, we will use the technique we have previously learnt in order to sketch the new hybrid animal.

Your task

First, you need to remember which new hybrid animal you have chosen.

Then, you need to think carefully about which parts of each animal it will have.
Next, you need to begin to sketch out the outline of your animal.

Once you have got your outline, refine the shape.

Finally, define the shape by adding shading and tone.
