Sports: Boxing

Come along and take part inStoneyholmes Boxingfor fitnessclub. You willmaster basic boxing movement patterns and punching techniquesas well as having lots of fun!  

 

Engineering: Multi-storey Mayhem

Design and build your own multistorey car park with working lights and a lift. Teamwork is very important in this task!

 

Global Citizenship: First Aid

Do you want to learn how to help someone in an emergency? First aid will teach you how to get help and what to do if someone is injured or poorly.  Learn theses important skills that may help you save somebody's life! 

 

The Arts: Sing Stars (Choir)

Sing Stars is the perfect opportunity to become Stoneyholme's very own star, with learning how to sing as part of a group and on your own. We will focus on singing technique, how to present yourself when performing, and most importantly, having fun when singing! Come along to have the opportunity to take part in competitions, trips, and lots of other exciting experiences with Miss Herbert.

 

Technology: Spike Robotics

Come along to Spike Robotics club! We will learn all about how Lego Spike models work, and work together following a step-by-step guide to design, build and program our robots. You can build your robot and have a race with your friend. 

 

The Arts: Film Making

Lights, Camera -Action 

Film making - it’s not just about what you see on screen, it’s how it makes it to the screen. Inspired by cinema’s great genres and directors from viewpoints, light and effects. Aspire to learn film techniques, edit to the beat, jump edit, use of transitions, cinepoems and the 1 take. 

Learn and create your own short. (that’s a film term for short film) 

Considering this as a future career, in Streaming and Online, start now!

 

Health & Wellbeing: Feel Good Cooks

Feel good about cooking and creating new healthy recipes!! Learn to cook, bake, mix, and stir like a great chef.

 

The Arts: Beats

Beats is the club for you if you want to learn more about creating rhythms and beats, mainly focusing on the drums but with lots of opportunity to experiment with different percussion instruments. This club will be busy and exciting and if you want the chance to perform your beat to an audience, this is the club for you.

 

Technology: Sphero’s

 

Introducing the new Sphero club, the robot that rolls to your commands. Do you have the skills to lead your robot into a robot war or onto a football pitch to become an unbeatable duo?

Health & Wellbeing: Stoneyholme Snappers

Do you want to have fun and learn more about photography? Then you will love our Stoneyholme Snappers Club where you can have fun learning about pictures, taking part in photography/videography challenges and activities!
This is a unique opportunity for children to learn about how photography & videography works, take better pictures/videos, join in fun challenges in a fun and stimulating environment.

 

Global Citizenship: Sign Language

Learn a new language! BSL (British Sign Language) is a way of communicating using gestures, facial expression, and body language. Sign Language is used mainly by people who are Deaf or have hearing impairments, and their families.

It’s a fantastic new skill to learn and lots of fun too! 

 

The Arts: Fantastic Book Awards

Take part in a unique opportunity to be part of 2023 Fantastic Book Awards Club. You will be some of the very first people to get your hands on and read the very latest titles by fabulous children's authors, explore them through lots of exciting activities - art, craft, drama, research, and competitions etc. - and vote for your favourite. You even get your very own badge to wear and a notebook and pen for jotting down your thoughts, and a special celebration event and certificate at the end. The children who took part last year were so excited to be part of it they didn't want it to end. The books were amazing and there was something for everyone! This year is going to be even better - an opportunity not to be missed!! (This club will run over two half terms as there are lots of books to explore).

 

Technology: Stop Frame

Bring to life your scenes and characters using stop frame animation, the skills used to create the Wallace and Gromit films. Learn all the tricks and skills to become the next Hollywood creative superstar storyteller through Stop Frame Animation.

 

Sports: Contact Rugby

A specialist coach from Burnley Rugby Club will be visiting our school outstanding School to deliver these sessions. This is the perfect opportunity for you to take part in lots of fun and exciting skill drills and be competitive whilst playing contact Rugby games.

 

The Arts: Embroidery

With embroidery you can learn stitching skills whilst having fun making a beautiful piece of art you can take home for yourself, or gift to a friend or family member. You will pick and draw your own design, and stitch together something amazing!
