Year’s 3 & 4 Enrichment Blurbs

Autumn 1

Little Chef’s:

Come and join little chefs club and become experts at chopping, stirring, and cooking. At little chefs club you will make fun and exciting meals and snacks which you will take home to enjoy! Will you become the next master chef?

 

Busy Builders:

Stem Building Challenges using different materials and Lego to encourage imagination and have fun.  Participate in exciting challenges which include concepts such as, science, maths, and engineering.

 

Chess:

Do you like to play tactical and strategic games? Come and learn the rules and basics of chess. Be the mastermind of the King and the Queen, control the Bishop and the Pawn. 

 

Wastebusters:

Have lots of fun learning about recycling with Busta and his friends, through games, challenges, creative and outdoor activities. 

You will:

- Go on a litter pick around the school grounds

- Choose a creative activity - saving money - reusing an item for another purpose

- Play games and complete recycling challenges

- Make resources (videos, posters, leaflets, etc.) to launch a campaign to encourage others to recycle - e.g - Recycle to Read

At the end of the 5 weeks, you will launch your campaign to the Unit 3/whole school.

 

Mad Science:

Come along to Mad Science Club and have lots of fun creating crazy Science experiments. Make crystals, slime, explosions, and experiment with much more.

 

Fantasy Football:

Come and join Fantasy Football and become masters of dribbling, passing, shooting, attacking, and defending.   You will participate in drills which include free kick and penalty shoot outs and will gain self-confidence, determination, teamwork. A Fantasy Fives Football league will also run throughout the five weeks.

 

Drama:

Do you like playing games? Do you like performing with your friends? Do you like having fun? Then drama club is for you. We will be creating performances and putting together a final showcase!  

 

Garage Band:

Come and learn the intuitive tools, make it simple to play instruments, and add your voice, loops, or sound effects. Make songs that reinforce vocabulary, record poetry verses, or compose soundtracks for your own documentaryfilms 

We will work on the following skills:

  • Track types
  • Loops
  • Additional Contents & Instruments
  • Musical Typing

 

Stoneyholme Snappers:

Do you want to have fun and learn more about photography? Then you will love ourStoneyholmeSnappers club where you can have fun learning about pictures and take part in photography activities and challenges. This is a unique opportunity for you to learn about how photography works. You will be introduced to different types of cameras/equipment, composing photoscenes,and editing pictures.

 

Lego We Do:

We will have lots of fun by:

Building and coding a Star Wars robot

Using Motion sensors to detect objects

Taking part in scientific experiments

Using tilt sensors

 

We will also use our computational thinking, collaborate with others, use tinkering skills to change things to see what happen and persevere!

 

Community Willow Weaver:

Be the next super willow weaver. Use the natural resource of willow from the school grounds. Form shapes and creations, using your imagination. Develop your new 3D art skills by designing and making.

 

Outdoor Adventures: (Gardening)  

Come and join Outdoor Adventures! We will be participating in lots of fun tasks in the Garden; from watering and harvesting, to building insect houses and making garden decorations.   

 

Musical Theatre:

Can you showcase your talents by working with music, verse, and Drama. We will incorporate movement to music, express and immerse ourselves into the characters, work in a team, developing and creative ideas, pushing yourselves and raising your confidence with performing in front of others. All whilst expressing yourself through this art form. 

 

Tennis:

Come and join Tennis club, we will have lots of fun learning new skills such as: throwing, catching, serving, forehand and back hand shots. We will work hard on our technique, footwork, and power to build us up to playing rallies with our friends.

 

Tag Ruby:

Come and learn how to play Tag Ruby! It is a fun filled competitive sport that requires lots of skills. We will learn how to: pass, catch, run with the ball and attack, and defend by tagging. We will build up to small games and participate in a mini Tag Rugby competition.
