Club Blurbs Autumn 1

 

Moments of Calm:

Yoga inspired sessions for children through music, storytelling and movement, taking the children on a magical journey. Each week new developmental areas are explored.  Supporting children’s mindfulness and coping skills for their mental wellbeing.

 

Scratch:

The junior coders will be using an iPad application to create a variety of codes for:

  • Making a car drive.
  • Running a race.
  • Making the sun set.
  • Making the moon rise after the sunset - Spooky forest.
  • Dribbling a basketball.

This is all done with new coding skills. Have you got what it takes to be a super junior coder?  

 

Enterprise:

Have you ever wondered where we get money from or how a business is run?

Come and find out about:

  • Key Stage 1 having a little business. 
  • Making things to sell. 

Let your imagination go wild and enjoy lots of fun. 

 

Super Steppers:

Come and join our exciting Super Steppers club.

You will be walking, skipping, hopping, and weaving around our 1k track and school grounds. Our route will have obstacles! Are you ready for a challenge?

We will learn to measure our own heart rate and look at healthy snacks and drinks.

 

Fantasy Football:

Come and join Fantasy Football and become masters of dribbling, passing, shooting, attacking and defending.   You will participate in drills which include free kick and penalty shoot outs and will gain self-confidence, determination, team work and understand the element of healthy competition.  

A Fantasy Fives Football league will run throughout the five weeks. Do you want to be the next Messi?

 

Young Explorers:

Children will research a different country each half term and sample food, greetings, religion, counting, linked with eco issue: rainforest, arctic, no clean water.  Children will research other charities/ incentives worldwide and share learning with the rest of the school. 

 

Little Chef’s:

Come and join little chefs club and become experts at chopping, stirring and cooking.

At little chefs club you will make fun and exciting meals and snacks which you will take home to enjoy! Will you become the next master chef?

 

 

Lego We Do:

We will have lots of fun by:

  • Building Space Raiders
  • Using Motion sensors  to detect objects
  • Taking part in scientific experiments
  • Using tilt sensors

 

Cool Running’s:

We will be learning the skills of different Running, Throwing and Jumping activities through a reward scheme which you will receive certificates and badges to mark your progress and be able to move onto the next stage at your own pace, we will be recording all your activities through the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) where we can compete against other schools in various indoor and outdoor competitions! 

 

Radio Shack:

Pupils will get hands on experience with an industry standard radio station, researching stories, creating their own segments and recording there finished parts to create a short radio show. They will be taught the functions of a sound desk and control the recording of microphones, CD’s and online content to create the final show.

Willow Weavers:

Be the next super willow weaver. Use the natural resource of willow from the school grounds. Form shapes and creations, using your imagination. Develop your new 3D art skills by designing and making.

 

Squish & Squash:

Come and join our fun Squish and Squash club! You will do lots of creating with: play dough, shaving foam, pasta and straws. We will be making exciting play dough prints, play dough monsters and learn how to make our very own play dough.

Come and get creative!

 

Sporty Avengers:

Children attending the multi-skills & multi-sports sessions will develop their agility, balance, coordination, speed, running, throwing, hitting, catching and kicking skills. During the multi-skills and multi-sports club children will have chance to try a range of sports including football, tag rugby, cricket, rounder’s, dodge ball, netball, hockey, tennis, plus many more. 

Within the “Sporty Avengers” after school club, children will build confidence, social skills and improve their fitness.  Have you got what it takes to be a Sporty Avenger?

 

Schools Gotta Dance Festival:

Children will devise and learn routines ready to perform at the ‘Burnley’s School Gotta Dance Festival’ in November 2021.
