Enrichment Blurbs      

 

Scratch Junior  

Using Scratch Jr, children can snap together programming blocks to make characters move, jump, dance, and sing. 

They can modify how their characters look, design their own backgrounds, add their own voices and sounds and even photos of themselves and then use the programming blocks to bring their characters to life. 

 

Lego We Do  

Let the unboxing begin, using Lego build your own robot, explore instructions and bring your robot to life with code.  

 

Pet Pals 

If your mum and dad have said no to you having a pet at home, then come to Pet Pals to learn about different pets and how to look after them. Over the 5 weeks, you will also help to care for our school pets, we have guinea pigs, a tortoise, fish and 2 chinchillas and work towards earning a Petwise Award for our school. 

 

First Aid  

Earn a first Aid Champion certificate from the British Red Cross. 

Do you want to learn how to help someone in an emergency? First aid champions will teach you how to get help and what to do if someone is injured or poorly. Learn theses important skills that may help you to stay calm and help save somebody's life!

Stoneyholme Snappers  

Do you want to have fun and learn more about photography? Then you will love our Stoneyholme Snappers Club where you can have fun learning about pictures, taking part in photography/videography challenges and activities! 
This is a unique opportunity for children to learn about how photography & videography works, take better pictures/videos, join in fun challenges in a fun and stimulating environment. 

 

Musical Theatre  

Musical Theatre Stars is the perfect club if you love acting and want to learn more about how to be a fabulous performer. We'll be learning some super fun play scripts that will go down a treat, so come along and join Miss Herbert for Mini Musical Theatre Stars!

Use your artistic talents and creative imagination on a digital device to enhance your skills with various artistic techniques and tools all on your iPad.  

 

Road Safety  

We will provide a fun and safe environment teaching children about what traffic is, why it is important that we know how to keep ourselves safe by the roads. As this is a vital life skill, we provide children with the resources and skills to support them becoming a confident pedestrian. 
By the end of our Road Safety course, children should: 
- Understand why it is important to stay safe when crossing a road. 
- Be able to recognise a range of safe places to cross the road. 
- Understand the differences between risky and safe choices. 
- Know different ways to help them keep safe when crossing a road. 

 

Out of this world Origami   

Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding, and the name “origami” (“ori” means folding, and “kami” means paper in Japanese). To create origami, we will use only our hands to craft a shape out of a simple piece of paper. We will make animals and our favourite characters, and we will watch videos to show us how to do this step by step.   

 

Healthy Cooking 

Would you like to learn a new skill? Come and join our healthy cooking club. You will learn how to cook some amazing new foods all prepared by yourselves to take home and enjoy with your family and friends. Be the next master chef! 

 

Sew Creative 

Do you enjoy making things? Are you creative? Come and learn how to make some useful things for yourself or members of your family with recycled pieces of fabric and different embroidery stitches e.g. a sock puppets, noughts and crosses game, pocket hugs, keyring, pocket tissue holder, patches to customise a plain bag, cushion, t-shirt, a jacket or your jeans
