Year 2

Democracy

We help pupils to express their views e.g. through English lessons and opportunities to present work and opinions.

We voted as a class to choose which animal to adopt. We are adopting a snow leopard!

Rule of Law

We learn about the importance of having rules and how they are there to keep us safe. We have created Class Charters which we have all agreed to, which enable us to learn.

We thought about rules at home that keep us safe.

Individual Liberty

We implement a strong anti-bullying culture which is celebrated every year in November.

Children are free to choose their own friends and play time equipment.

We take part in activities during Children’s Mental Health Week to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves, our health and our well-being, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

Mutual Respect and Tolerance

We spend time listening to people's point of view. We talk about what makes everyone different. We learn about different cultures and values. Throughout the year, we visit many places of worship to learn about different beliefs.

We learned about Christianity.

We learned about Islam.

We celebrated that we are all unique by wearing and making odd socks.
