Penalty Notices at Stoneyholme

Penalty Notices at Stoneyholme
As of Tuesday 5th November our school will be able to issue Penalty Notices to parents/carers who are able, but unwilling to ensure their child's school attendance. This has taken place due to poor attendance and punctuality being a major issue at Stoneyholme. The majority of school's across Burnley are already actively using Penalty Notices, and it is evident from their attendance rates that it is working.

All children have taken a letter home on Friday 8th November to their parents explaining all about the Notices and how they work. If you would like to read our local authorities handout regarding Penalty Notices please see attached document to this page.

At Stoneyholme our target attendance rate is 97%, anything falling below that we monitor alongside as punctuality. We provide alot of support for our families in school and are working with outside agencies like the Chai centre, school nurse, health visitors and PAST (Pupil Attendance Support Team) to help and support our familes in the best way we possibly can.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to get in contact with the school.
