EYFS

During Autumn term, the reception children have been reading the story of

'The Colour Monster' by Ann Llenas

The story is about a monster who changes colour depending on how he is feeling. We will be exploring each feeling in detail.

What affects our feelings?

Hidaya made her own emotions jar. She used her phonics to write labels about how different things made her feel.

During our PSHE, we have been reading Ruby’s worry. The story is about a girl called Ruby who has a worry, but it gets bigger as she doesn’t talk about it. We discussed what might be a worry and what you need to do when you have a worry.

The children drew their worry and fed it to the worry monsters.

We have been focusing on how we keep ourselves safe this half term making sure we know how to be safe on Bonfire Night. We have recorded our ideas in our class floor books.

For Anti bullying week we wore odd socks to celebrate our differences. We have looked at UNCRC Article 2 non discrimination and Article 12 respect the views of the child to show our support for reaching out when we need help.
