Our children learned how to responsibly cross the road, developed an understanding of different types of road users (pedestrians, vehicles and cyclists) and learned about different types of road crossings (pelican, puffin, toucan and zebra) pedestrians and cyclists could use on busy roads. We also looked at ‘bike safety’, where the children learned how to make certain safety checks before they can ride a bike.

In enrichment this term children in years 1 and 2 have been looking at abstract artists and create art inspired by those artists.

Go Green in 15

Children from Year 3 and 4 completed 5 activities for the Go Green in 15 challenge which will count as 5 points towards our Green Tree Schools Award.

They used their iPads to look for trees in different cultures, went on a tree hunt to find 15 different trees in our school grounds, decorated one of the trees in the Willow dome as their special tree, created art using natural materials and made bird feeders to feed the birds during winter.

We created pictures of Stick Man and after collecting leaves, we did some leaf rubbings and made leaves using plasticine. When we were able to go outdoors, we had lots of fun making mud pies, creating art from natural materials and learning some new forest school games.
