Stoneyholme Primary is a community school, with focus on 'Family Learning', we want to encourage parents education alongside their children's learning, so that parents are equipped with skills and knowledge to help and support their child's academic and personal development.
The courses on for parents are as follows :-
ESOL (pre-entry & phonics) 9.15-11.50am, English for Speakers of Other Languages
ESOL E1/2 9:15 -12:00pm English for speakers of other languages, with Accrington and Rossendale College
Healthy cooking Stuck for ideas for what to put in your children's lunch boxes or how to cook a healthy snack, then come and enjoy cooking together with other parents.
Retail knowledge course (Level 1 award with Accrington college)
Basic/advanced sewing people who have completed our basic course can move on to the advanced, or if you have the basic skills but wish to improve come and join. (will be delivered by Lancashire Adult College)
Young at Heart 10-12pm
Over 50's women meet for planned activities; sports, trips, welfare information, and to socialise, all welcome. (refreshment available)
Exercise with weight management
Walk and Talk mums, toddlers, all ages welcome (prams n babies), bring water bottle.
Health and Wellbeing & Mindfit to a job-time out for yourself, discover different ways of feeling better about yourself, how to support your child's emotional wellbeing, relaxation techniques. please book with Rupali Begum (Lancashire Adult College)
Maths themed/Functional Award with Accrington college 9.15-12pm (receive City and Guilds certificate on completion)
English Award with Accrington College 12.45- 3.30pm (receive City and Guilds certificate on completion)

Support work in School level 2 Award 9.15-12pm, Want to work in schools! this course will give you the knowledge and skills to start working with children. Please book in advance. (Need to be in a primary school placement to enrol on the course) delivered by Accrington and Rossendale college
Teaching Assistants course L1 and L2 (with Accrington College)
Drop -in (please book time) come for a brew, help with filling a form or talk to our professional staff on whatever issues that might be stopping you from moving forward.
Handling Family Anger Management Practical support through discussions in a safe group on how to mange anger in the family, and how to support your child through different emotions.
Zumba! Yoga for parent and child (exercise with a Bollywood twist, get weighed, 1:1 support on health advise)
Employability & ITC learn to write a cv,job search or how to use the internet.
First Aid & Food Safety-
Business administration L1 (Accrington college)

Drop in surgery from other organisations, from welfare rights to health services.
Parent Teacher Friends Association - meet regularly to look at new ways to support our school, the children and our community. (Please phone school for next meeting date.)
