Class Charters
Our class charters frame the relationship between the children (Right Holders) and teachers (Duty Bearers) in the classroom. This relationship is built through the rights of the child and their understanding of rights. The children vote on the rights that they feel link well to the classroom and discuss how they and the Duty Bearers can ensure each child in the classroom can enjoy their rights. By doing this, the children and teachers build respect for the rights of the child and it has a positive impact on their attitude and behaviour towards each other. Everyone who works and learns in the classroom signs the charter to agree to respect the rights.
