Year 2

We have been taking inspiration from famous sculptors including Henry Moore, Auguste Rodin and Louise Bourgeois to create our own sculptures using natural and man-made materials.

We have linked our learning of sculpture to Science (manipulating malleable materials) and English (Traditional Tales) to make well-known characters from clay using pinching, rolling, squashing and bending. We have also used a variety of tools to add texture and detail.

We have created collage using different media, arranging and gluing materials to produce an image thinking about shapes, scale and textures. We took inspiration from Henry Matisse’s Snail.

We have been using colour washing techniques to produce the background for our next collage.

We have been using Sketches to produce digital images of polar regions.

We have been revisiting the knowledge we gained in the Autumn Term by manipulating malleable materials and creating lines and marks with tools.
