LC: To share character thoughts, feelings and motives for actions through a diary recount.

Make sure you have read the whole of Chapter 2: The Trouble with Yetis and can remember the events clearly.

(Revisit Thursday's reading page to re-read the text if needed.)

Imagine that you are Agatha.

Write a diary entry from the day when she tells the Yetis that they must stay safely hidden.

Think about:

What happened that day?

How did Lady Agatha feel and why did she feel like that?

What was Lady Agatha concerned about?

Tips for writing a diary:

Start with Dear Diary,

Write in first person (you are Agatha).

Examples: I, we, mine, my, our

Write events that have happened that day in chronological (time) order.

Language of sequencing: Firstly… because/however/therefore/after a while/meanwhile/ in addition…Next…Then… Finally/Eventually/Lastly…

Include how you (Agatha) are feeling about the things that have happened and about what you (Agatha) think might happen if the yetis don’t stay hidden.

Use the past tense.

(were/was, had/had been etc.)

Try to include some of the new words that you have explored this week.

Use a range of sentence structures-

(complex, statement, question, exclamation sentences)

Use the reading lesson you have just completed to help you write your diary entry.
