Warm up

Look at the example sentence below. As you can see the relative pronoun has been omitted from the embedded relative clause.

For the warm up, write the second sentence and add an embedded relative clause that doesn't include a relative pronoun.

If you are at home, complete this in your blended learning book.

Today we are going to discuss the story of Alice in Wonderland further. We are going to read to page 7 and use our book talk prompts to help us have a class discussion and answer questions.

Step 1

Read to page 7 of Alice in Wonderland. As you read, think carefully about what Alice in experiencing and what characters are in the tory so far.

How might Alice be feeling throughout the part of the story?

What animals are in the story?

Step 2

Now you have read the book, you are going to be given some time to use the question prompts below to have a conversation with your table partner.

Think about specific parts within these pages that interest you that you want to talk about.

If you are at home, get a family member to read up to page 7 with you, then take it in turns to ask each other questions using the question prompts.

Step 3

Look at the model questions below. We are going to answer these questions together. This will help you understand what to do with your task.

If you are at home, answer these questions verbally with a family member.

Task

Using pages 1-7, complete the questions below in full sentences. Make sure you explain in detail when you answer each question.
