Our school council is made up of group of children from every class within our school, we have been elected by our classes to represent them and their views.
Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) says that children and young people should have a say in decisions that affect their lives. Our school council allows us to voice our opinions and have our views listened to to inform decisions which impact on us.
As School Council, during harvest week, we decided to organise a collection for Burnley Football Club in the Community food bank. We thought this would be a fantastic idea, as everything donated could help somebody less fortunate. Thanks to parents and guardian unbelievable support, we manage to collect and donate all this to the cause.
Children's Mental Health Week
For Children's Mental Health Week, as School Council we decided to organise a competition. Out theme was, to create a picture of 'What makes you happy'.
Here are our WINNERS!
As we are School Council, pupil voice is very important to us. We always look across the school to identify when, in our learning, pupils have the opportunity to express their views and opinions.
