We are delighted to announce that Stoneyholme Community Primary School has been awarded the ‘SILVER-RIGHTS AWARE’ status by Unicef UK. This is a great achievement as there are currently only six schools in Lancashire who have achieved the Silver award.
Mrs M Ellams, a UNICEF RRS Adviser, was extremely impressed by the way our school has embraced a child rights based approach and thoroughly enjoyed her visit.
Mrs Ellams stated: “Children had an impressive knowledge of individual rights with pupils able to recite the right and article number in a confident and articulate manner.” Mrs Ellams was also impressed with the creation of Leadership Teams that recognises the emphasis we place on pupil voice being heard throughout our school.
The award reflects our dedication and continuing efforts to embed children’s rights within the heart of our school community.
Congratulations to all the pupils and adults of Stoneyholme Community Primary School. We are now officially recognised as a Unicef UK Silver: Rights Aware School.
