Lets continue to learn about percentages.

 

Read the in focus question below. 

For Q1 above, we are trying to work the answers out by attempting to change the denominators to 100. 

 

For school Alpha, if the scores are out of 300 we know that this can be simplified to 100 by dividing by 3. Now the numerator 91 can also be divided by 3 to make 31.

 

31/100 would then make 31%. 

Converting to decimals and fractions makes it easier to see that School Gamma had the best scores with 35 /100 being 0.35 = 35%
