Which rope do you think is the longest?

 

Use the place value that we have learnt this week first and count how many blocks there would be in each number.

Well done, the answer was 0.49.

 

There were no whole numbers in any of the numbers so we have a look at the tenths column. 4 tenths is greater than 2 and 3 tenths so this is our answer for the longest rope.

Did we even need to look at the hundredth or thousandth place?

No, as we found our answer by looking at the tenths column.
