Maths

Monday 18th May

Today we are learning about finding equivalent fractions.

Look at the pictures and if you know your times tables then this should be easy.

2 x 2 = 4

5 x 2 = 10

What ever you x the numerator by you do the exact same to the denominator.

What did he x 3 by to get 9?

Ahhh     3 x 3 = 9

So if I multiply the numerator by 3 then 2 x 3= 6

 =  6

3      9

3          9

4  x3   12

3             6

4    x2     8

a)     2              4

        5    x2     10

b)     5               10

        6     x2      12

c)     2        many answers here, as long as you x the numerator and the

3        denominator by the same number.

Now it is your turn.  In your Maths No Problem workbook.

Chapter 11, lesson 10, page 100.

Now that you have finished, first check you work, then complete 10 minutes of TTRockstars.

Well done Year 3
