Today, we are going to looking at making number pairs.

Have a look at the in focus question below.

What do you think the information is showing?

How do you think we can share this chocolate bar?

Do you think we can share 5/6 using thirds?

From our previous lessons, we know that 4/6 and 2/3 are equivalent.

What about making twelfths or quarters? Would it be possible?

How many number pairs can be made from 5/6?

We can see that 10/12 is equivalent to 5/6.
