To begin this lesson, we will look at the In Focus task. Can you start by putting 4 cherries on each cake?
How many cakes can we decorate? Now write the multiplication and division equations for this situation.
If you want to cut the cakes and cherries out of paper or draw them, that is great!
Now do the same with 5 cherries on each cake.
Now look closely at the 2 sets of equations. What do you notice? Can you see that these 4 equations make a family of multiplication and division facts?
Now let’s do the guided practice.
We will complete the workbook pages in your blended learning book at home and send a photograph of the learning to Mrs Metcalfe.
