LC: To make 3-D shapes.

 

Make a model of the box in the 'In Focus task' using plasticine or any other malleable material if you are learning from home. 

What kind of shape is the box?

How many faces does the box have?

What is the 2-D shape of each face?

This is a cube. It is made up of 6 identical squares. 

Now, cut the cube in half.

What do you notice?

The two parts are identical.

Can we change the cube into a sphere?

Do you remember what a sphere is?

Guided Practice

 

You will be drawing a prism and a pyramid.

Prisms have identical ends whereas pyramids form an apex (a point).
